Shooting Sisters

Brittany and Paula

Every once in a while I will shoot a model who has a sister who wants to model.

Mindy Rae                                     Robin

Mindy Rae, a DD who I shot for many major big bust magazines,
had a sister Robin who I also shot for magazines
I remember back in 1982 when the three sisters set there sights on coming to Hollywood
to seek some modeling work perhaps some work in Adult movies.

Robin and Mindy Rae
(not look alike? could it be different fathers? half sisters)

It took them 10 days to two weeks to make the journey from NYC to Hollywood.
There mother would call from the side of the road somewhere when they were broke down
and waiting for repairs  to reassure me that they would arrive soon.

I never expected them to arrive at all, as many talk about modeling but few actually show up for a posing session.

There mother was quite a gal, tough and brash, she had seen a lot of action of some sort to make her so street wise at 40 years of age.
Most models avoid having their parents know that they model; when you call they always instruct you to not say it about modeling.

Robin

I used to tell parents or whomever answered the phone, I was just returning her call,
so as not to arouse suspicion that their daughter was making money posing for a national men’s magazine.
Here was a mother who encouraged her daughters to take it off for the camera and make some money.
If you do this job long enough, you meet all types.

The sisters and mother ended up in a motel on Sepulveda Blvd. in Van Nuys.
Cheap rent and close to all of the modeling action in the San Fernando Valley,
which at the time was becoming the hotbed of the porn industry.
Most of the publishers I shot for in that area published magazines for the book stores like Le Sex Shoppes
and various other adult book stores around the country.
All of what I called the national market publishers were located in NYC. Magazines such as High Society,
Cheri, Gallery, Genesis, Club, etc. Both types of publishers had different standards.
The NYC publishers would not accept small busted models for their magazines,
unless they were used in a girl/ girl layout. I shot Robin for one of these local publishers called Briarwood, who put out about 20 titles.

I booked robin and did a shoot on her, but I saw Mindy Rae,
and knew I could sell her to all of the major big bust magazines.
She was not modeling at this point, but would soon slip out of her bra for some test shots
after she saw how much money her sister was making just posing nude by herself.

Eventually Mindy Rae called and said, I ready to shoot, so I booked her for the very next day
and shot her without any makeup artist, a quick shoot before she changes her mind
and heads back to the big apple. Those layouts sold to Gent and Juggs and a few others.

Mindy soon called again and asked if she could do some more posing,
but I told her my markets only needed some boy/girl, and she was not doing that at that point.
A few weeks went by and she was again following in her older sisters footsteps and had decided to do some boy/girl.
Having seen the money her sister was making doing films, she soon followed.
That’s the way it seemed to work with sisters. One would do it first and then the other.

Later I shot Brittany, a DD and her sister Paula who was later got married to an adult film actor.
I shot Brittany and her sister together in a soft layout as a couple of girls who were making cotton candy.

Back in the 70’s a couple of just 18 year old sisters entered the modeling field, and were twins.
They both did a lot of modeling in the seventies and Sheryl Taylor, I cant remember the twins name, but I bet it started with an S.
